Built since 1971

Hotfingers has been making winter gloves since 1971, designed and operated from Johnstown, New York. The line covers everything from a kid's first sled-hill pair to the longest day at the resort, organized into three categories (Wintersport, Utility, Youth), each available across every price point from everyday to top-tier builds.

Every glove is built around the same handful of decisions. Real materials, honest construction, and a price that respects everything else winter costs you.

Category 01 · Wintersport

Wintersport. Built for the mountain.

Ski and snowboard gloves for every kind of day.

Wintersport is the largest family in the Hotfingers line: every glove and mitt built for skiing, snowboarding, and the resort days in between. Whether you're outfitting a beginner or chasing lift-access powder all season, Wintersport gloves are built around grip, dexterity, and keeping your hands warm through a full day outside.

Available in three tiers of warmth and weatherproofing to match how you ski or ride: everyday Hotloft insulation and Snow-Tex waterproofing, a step up to heavier shells and a more substantial hand feel for those on snow most of the season, and the Gore-Tex family with the Access Pro's quick-access zipper for the longest, coldest days on the mountain.

Best for

  • Beginner and casual skiers or snowboarders
  • Resort days in changing winter weather
  • Lift-access days in real cold
  • Anyone who wants a dedicated ski/snowboard glove, not an all-purpose one

What's in a Wintersport glove

  • Hotloft insulation in every tier
  • Snow-Tex, Alpine Dry, or Gore-Tex waterproofing depending on tier
  • Grippy palms built for poles and edges
  • Easy-on closures and adjustable cuffs
Category 02 · Utility

Utility. Built to do it all.

Tough enough for chores, warm enough for the hill.

Utility is Hotfingers' most versatile family: real leather gloves, a softshell hybrid, and lighter mitts built to handle firewood, dog walks, and the school pickup line, then keep going. Most styles pack a waterproof insert and real insulation underneath the leather, so they hold up well outside the resort – and plenty of our customers wear them on it, too. If you want one glove that can do it all, this is where to start.

Available across three levels of build quality to match how hard you are on your gloves: everyday goatskin or deerskin leather with Hotloft insulation, a step up to full-leather construction like Buckskin and Roughneck for those who are outside most of the day, and Snow-Tex waterproofing with a more refined, all-day fit for the coldest, wettest days – chores or otherwise.

Best for

  • Cold-weather chores like firewood, shoveling, and daily outside tasks
  • Dog walks, commuting, and errands in real winter weather
  • Casual skiing or riding for anyone who doesn't want to invest in a dedicated resort glove
  • Anyone who wants one glove tough enough for chores and warm enough for the hill

What's in a Utility glove

  • Heavyweight fabric or real leather construction, depending on the style
  • Full-leather construction on styles like Buckskin and Roughneck, for extra durability
  • Snow-Tex or Alpine Dry waterproof insert
  • Hotloft or Heat Locker insulation
Category 03 · Youth

Youth. The same build, kid-sized.

The same Hotfingers build, kid-sized.

Youth is Hotfingers' kids' line: gloves and mitts sized down from our adult styles, built for sled hills, snow days at recess, and the first few seasons on skis or a board. If your kid needs a glove or mitt that keeps up with them, this is the place to start.

Available across three levels of warmth and weatherproofing, just like the grown-up versions. Everyday styles bring Hotloft insulation and easy-on cuffs for younger kids, a step up adds a longer cuff and more coverage for older kids on snow most of the day, and top-tier styles bring the Gore-Tex family for families who want the same waterproofing they rely on themselves, in a kid-sized fit.

Best for

  • Sled hills, snow days, and backyard play in real winter weather
  • The first few seasons on skis or a snowboard
  • Kids who need a warm, easy-on glove or mitt for school and play
  • Parents who want the same Hotfingers quality, sized for kids

What's in a Youth glove

  • Hotloft insulation in every tier
  • Easy-on cuffs and kid-friendly closures
  • Snow-Tex or Gore-Tex waterproofing depending on tier
  • Sized down from our adult fit, not just shrunk

How we build them.

Every Hotfingers glove is built around four core technologies. HOTLOFT is our proprietary hollow-core polyester insulation, designed for warmth without bulk. Gore-Tex inserts (in our top-tier styles) and Alpine Dry inserts (in select mid-tier styles) are waterproof-breathable membranes that keep moisture out and let perspiration escape. Snow-Tex is our branded waterproof-breathable insert, used across our everyday and mid-tier styles. The right technology for the right price point, with no overbuild and no shortcut.

How to choose

Not sure where to start? Three quick questions.

1. What will you use them for? Skiing or snowboarding, work and everyday winter tasks, or a kid's glove or mitt. That's your category: Wintersport, Utility, or Youth. Start there.

2. How often will you wear them? Most days outside all winter, lean toward our top-tier styles. Weekend resort days or regular winter weather, our mid-tier styles are the sweet spot. Casual use, or the pair you'll stash in the car, our everyday styles are plenty.

3. What matters more, top materials or fair value? Our top tier brings Gore-Tex or exclusive technology. Our mid tier balances better materials with a friendlier price. Our everyday tier keeps it simple and honest.

Still not sure? Start with Wintersport if you ski or ride, Utility if you need a glove that works as hard as you do, or Youth if you're shopping for a kid.
