How do I find my glove size?
Measure the circumference of your dominant hand at the widest point, around the knuckles, with your fingers held close together but not spread. Skip the thumb. The number in inches is your size. Match it to the chart that matches your fit:
Men's: S 7.5–8 inches, M 8.5–9 inches, L 9.5–10 inches, XL 10.5–11 inches.
Women's: S 6–6.5 inches, M 7–7.5 inches, L 8–8.5 inches.
Youth Junior (ages 5–12): S age 5–6, M age 7–8, L age 9–10, XL age 11–12.
Youth Tots (ages 1–6): S age 1–2, M age 3–4, L age 5–6.
If you're between sizes, size up. A slightly roomier fit is better for warmth and comfort than one that's too snug. The full chart with measuring steps lives on the size guide.
Do Hotfingers gloves run true to size?
Yes. Our gloves follow the standard hand-circumference scale used across the glove industry. If you wear a medium in another brand's adult ski glove, you'll likely wear a Hotfingers medium. Youth is sized by age, not measurement, with two ranges: Junior (ages 5–12) and Tots (ages 1–6). If a kid is on the high end of an age range, size up to give the glove room to grow into.
How do I pick between Mountain, Ridge, and Peak?
Mountain is the everyday tier across the line. Lighter, more dexterous, the pair that lives in the mudroom or the truck. Ridge is the dependable middle. Heavier shells, more substantial construction, built to hold up through more seasons. Peak is our longest-haul build. Can I wear a liner glove underneath?
Most Hotfingers gloves are sized for hand-only wear and break in to the shape of your hand over time, so we don't recommend layering a separate liner underneath. The exception is the Access Pro Mitt, which ships with a built-in removable fleece liner glove for two-piece warmth. If you want to layer in another style, size up one size to give the liner room without restricting movement.
Are Hotfingers gloves waterproof?
Yes. Every Hotfingers glove in the F26 line has a waterproof or waterproof-breathable insert. What differs is which insert.
The Peak Gore family (Alpine Gore-Tex, Clipper Gore-Tex, Clipper Gore-Tex JR) uses a Gore-Tex insert, the same waterproof-breathable membrane that's in your shell jacket.
Mountain and Ridge Wintersport styles (Rip, Explorer, Expedition, Flurry II, Rip JR) use a Snow-Tex waterproof-breathable insert, our branded insert built to the same waterproof standard with less of the Gore-Tex price.
Select Utility styles (Buckskin Classic, Roughneck, Ascent) use an Alpine Dry waterproof-breathable insert.
Entry and Youth styles (Fluff Mitt, Hybrid, Toasty Tots, Zip N Slide, Snow Day, Quest Long Cuff, Flurry II JR) use a waterproof or windproof-waterproof insert built for everyday winter use.
All of the above keep water out and let moisture vapor escape. The Gore-Tex family is the most breathable and the longest-lasting; everything else covers the rest of the line at the right price for the use case.
What is Hotloft insulation?
Hotloft is our proprietary insulation. Ultra-thin hollow-core polyester fibers that trap warm air without adding bulk. Most Hotfingers gloves use Hotloft, often paired with a Bemberg or Micro Bemberg lining for a smoother feel against your hand. The hollow-core construction is what keeps the glove warm without making it feel stiff or heavy.
What other insulations do you use?
Three other insulations show up in the line, each chosen for a specific use case.
Heat Locker is used in the leather Utility styles (Buckskin Classic, Roughneck). It pairs with polyester fleece and an Alpine Dry waterproof insert for daily cold-weather work.
Pro-Therm is used in the Fluff Mitt, a women's microfleece slip-on built for short outdoor moments.
3M Thinsulate C40 is used in the Snow Day Glove, a budget-friendly toddler glove built for active play.
What is Gore-Tex and why does it matter?
Gore-Tex is a waterproof, windproof, and breathable membrane. It blocks water and wind from the outside while letting sweat vapor escape from the inside. In gloves, that means your hands stay dry from both directions, even on long days when you're working up heat. Gore-Tex is in our Peak Gore family: Alpine Gore-Tex, Clipper Gore-Tex, and Clipper Gore-Tex JR for kids.
How is Snow-Tex different from Gore-Tex?
Both are waterproof-breathable inserts that keep water out while letting moisture vapor escape. Gore-Tex is the recognized ingredient brand, used in our Peak Gore family. Snow-Tex is our branded version of the same kind of insert, used across Mountain and Ridge so we can keep those tiers at value-tier prices without giving up the waterproof story.
What does Alpine Dry mean on a glove?
Alpine Dry is our branded waterproof-breathable insert used in select Utility styles (Buckskin Classic, Roughneck, Ascent). It serves the same function as Gore-Tex or Snow-Tex, keeping water out and letting sweat escape, and is matched to the leather and heavyweight fabric construction in those styles.
Why do some gloves use a mitten format with finger channels inside?
Mittens are warmer than gloves because your fingers share heat with each other. Internal finger channels separate each finger inside the mitt for added dexterity without giving up the warmth advantage. Look for finger channels on the Rip Mitt, Expedition Mitt, Alpine Gore-Tex Mitt, Clipper Gore-Tex Mitt, Fluff Mitt, Rip JR Mitt, and Clipper Gore-Tex JR Mitt.
What is your warranty policy?
Hotfingers gloves are covered by a one-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. If you believe your gloves have a defect, contact us via the contact page within the warranty period with your order number and photos of the issue. Normal wear and tear, misuse, or damage from improper care are not covered.
How do I care for my Hotfingers gloves?
Care depends on the build.
Fabric gloves (every Wintersport and Youth style, plus Hybrid and Flurry II in Utility) can be hand washed or machine washed on cold gentle cycle with mild detergent. Air dry flat. Do not tumble dry on high heat or apply direct heat. The exception is Gore-Tex styles, which can take an occasional tumble dry on low after washing to reactivate the DWR (durable water repellent) coating.
Leather gloves (Buckskin Classic, Roughneck) need different care. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and air dry. Avoid machine washing leather, and condition the leather periodically with a leather conditioner to keep it supple. Never apply direct heat.
In all cases, check the care tag inside the glove for the most accurate model-specific instructions.
How much does shipping cost?
Free standard shipping on US orders over $75. Orders below the threshold ship for a flat rate of $10. Expedited shipping is available at checkout. Shipping rates to Canada are calculated at checkout based on your location.
How fast will my order ship?
Orders placed Monday through Friday are typically processed within 1 to 2 business days. Once shipped, standard delivery takes 5 to 7 business days. You'll get a tracking confirmation email as soon as your order is on its way.
Where do you ship?
Throughout the United States and Canada. Shipping rates and estimated delivery times are calculated at checkout based on your location.
What is your return policy?
We accept returns within 30 days of delivery on unworn, unwashed items in original condition with tags attached. Sale items are final sale and not eligible for return. To start a return, visit the contact page with your order number.
How do I start a return or exchange?
Reach out via the contact page with your order number and the reason. We respond within 1 to 2 business days with return instructions. Exchanges are subject to availability.
Can I update or cancel my order after placing it?
We begin processing orders quickly. Email us as soon as possible and we'll do our best to accommodate changes before your order ships. Once an order has shipped, we can't make modifications. Reach out via the contact page with your order number.
How do I track my order?
You'll get a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number once your order is on its way. You can also view order status from your account page if you checked out with an account.
My order arrived damaged or defective. What do I do?
That's not the experience we want for you. Contact us via the contact page with your order number and photos of the issue. We'll make it right with a replacement or refund as quickly as possible.
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and Shop Pay. All transactions are processed securely through Shopify's checkout.
My card was declined. What should I do?
Double-check that the billing address you entered at checkout matches what's on file with your card issuer. That's the most common cause of declines. If the issue persists, try a different card or payment method, or contact your bank directly.
How do I get a discount code?
Sign up for our email newsletter for exclusive offers and first looks at sales. We also share promotions through our social channels. If you're part of a qualifying pro or group program, reach out via the contact page.
Can I use more than one discount code?
Only one discount code per order. Codes can't be stacked or combined.
